Default Comparing Stealthy Smog Cam Specs

What would the differences be in running either the cheaTR v.3 cam (219/230 607/.604 117 LSA) vs. the EPS (214/232 .605/.598 117 LSA). I'm looking for a good, stealthy cam for stock exhaust manifolds. How would the cam specs effect the powerband, etc.? On a car with ported stage II patriots and stock 00-02' exhaust manifolds/cats, would there be a more suitable cam? How would you decide which one to buy?

Both cams would be very similar and frankly those are your best two choices. Personally i would get the EPS cam due to the lobe design is superior, it would be easier on the valvetrain, same power and it will be quieter so you wont have as much of that sewing machine noise.

Have EPS do a custom grind, maybe a 218/226 115lsa (-8*overlap), or maybe w/116lsa (-10* overlap).

Thats what I was thinking also. I wish I had dyno's of both cams overlayed, to see how the powerband is effected with the different valve events. If no one knows, maybe it would be best to call EPS or someone who specs cams to find out the differences. I do like the idea of less "sewing machine" noise if power gains are similar however.

Also considering these cams down the road. Would like a comparison if anybody has it. I do like how EPS has the better lopes as I don't want that "sewing" noise.

I've searched a few of the cheaTR v.3 cam and is claimed to make 30-40rwhp but once installed and dyno'd they were only around 350-360rwhp?

Now I remember Pat G had a did a cam similar in a '32 Ford something, and made 400+rwhp in stock exhaust. Just trying to see whats out there also and make the best decision to suite my needs.

I'd have the heads ported and milled to get the flow and compression up. Then you'll be able to run a little less exhaust duration so you can go with tighter lsa and get the DCr up.
