if you are all ready doing a head and cam swap, just do them ,for the price its kinda dumb not to upgrade,I didn't do mine when I did just a cam swap but when I put the heads on in spring I will be swapin the lifters,I have a really big cam though,I know a lot of people that just left the stockers in there on a h/c swap and they haven't had any issues, imo if the heads are off do them, what kind of miles does your car have?also what setup are you gonna run,?

A lot of guys reuse them. I wouldn't be terribly concerned if it were a lower mileage engine. The reason most guys change them is due to having to take the heads to to swap them. If you are doing a heads/cam swap, it's a good time to do them. However, if they look good and not giving you a problem, it's not terrible to reuse them. Just make sure they don't have any excessive wear on them. LS7's aren't any quieter than the OE part. Setting up your valvetrain with the correct geometry and preload will take care of the excessive noise.
