Take it to someone who deals with LS engines, there are a bunch of variables that are different from gen1 sbc engines, which is what most shops are used to, I had to sit down with my shop and have my bearing clearances set where I wanted them because they figured on running them like a gen1, and dont get me started on what they dont know about the reluctor wheel on the crank..

your from PA huh ?
try to find other LS1 guys and ask around of a good shop.
or you could just take it to any machine shop and take a risk.
hang out at the track , or what wouldnt be a bad idea is call around and ask if the shop has built any good LS1s before

An engine is an engine... building it and machining it are two different things. Finding a good machine shop around me is impossible. But If i found a good machine shop I dont care if they specialize in tractor or boat engines....as long as they can machine stuff to the correct specs they are golden.
