Default adviice: timing set/oil pump with cam change?

With 18,000 miles on my A4 2000 Formula I am having a tr224 cam and CC918 springs installed. Should I replace the chain set? Oil pump? Is it more labor to swap the pump/chain when the cam is already out?
What is good - Rollmaster/LS6?
Street car that might make -400 hp/tq after tuning.
I know I can judge the chain once apart but I want the car in and out of the shop - no waiting for parts. What's common here?
thank you

If it were me. I would go for the double roller timing chain and the ls6 oil pump.

Good luck

Ditto! I'd reccomend changing both for piece of mind. Get the Rollermaster heat-treated double timing set and the ported LS6 oil pump. You can get both at Texas Speed and Performance. Get a new pick-up tube o-ring also.

I did my cam swap at 5K miles. I re-used the stock chain, it was fine, and still is fine. Got a ported pump though, because my stock one held a lower psi than I deemed acceptable.

I know lots of guys revving in the low to mid 6K range with mild to moderate H/C or cam only LS1s using stock chains for 10s of thousands of miles. If it makes you feel better though, then swap it out while you're in there.

What should the psi be on a cammed car with the stock pump?

It is more work, but once you have the front cover off it's not that bad. The pump is held on by four bolts and the crank sprocket which drives both the oil pump and camshaft is behind the oil pump. If you use the double chain be sure to orient the spacer that goes on the oil pump output port side properly.
