i just bought my first 5.3 iron block and im looking to make massive amounts of torque with it. mainly for towing reasons and cause i wna push a 78 gmc 4wd around town wth no problem. my first thought was to throw a huge crank in. but seems that 4.0 stroke is the biggest i can go b4 i have to clearance it. but ive read that its possible to fit a 4.250 stroke with proper machine work.. i want realiabilty but will sacrifice that for loads of power. im looking for suggestions to make the troque i want and any insight and knowledge anyone may have.
