Default Will 978s and YTs collapse stock lifters?

Not really wanting to jack with shims on the comp Rs, although I have 7.35 push rods for intake and 7.325s for the exhaust. Due to the larger base circle on the exhaust lobe. Could I use new stockers or OEM comps? Does anyone have a similar set up? How much preload are you running on comp Rs? Im running 5.3s with .005 milled for clean up and X1 cam. Thanks.

I will be running similar set up 224 581 112 with Comp 978 and Harland Sharp rockers
I have been told the stock lifters will handle it
we'll see

Who told you this will work? I was told it was close and it could cause valvefloat.

I ran 9.80's with the 978's, stock lifters and rockers. I eventually went to the Comp R lifters and Harland Sharp's for insurance. The extra mass of the YT causes valve float.

Jason....

Get rid of the YT's, get some stock rockers, and get off yer *** and put that thang together! Yeah, I know a few stock rockers have lost their needle bearings, but most of them don't.

The good, cold, wether will be gone before you know it.

Somebody needs to give Joey a run for his money..... I sure can't do it anymore (unless I spray him )

Im ready to get it done too! Im ready to take Joeys butt out on motor but when he hits that TNT kit its see ya. Scotty, Joey needs to borrow your 27"s for trip to the track. Hes running out on 26"s and hitting the limiter on the shifts.

On a similar note, are the stock lifters able to handle Jesels & 978's?

That's right... I forgot about Joey's 10.4x spray pass. I guess I don't have anything for him... spray or no spray.

I plan on being at Evadale on the 28th. I'll stay on motor until I get the kinks out of my driving/shifting and then hit the button and hopefully dip into the 10's.... and get kicked for no roll bar.
