Default How far can i push my stock rotating assembly?

As of now i am making about 450whp through an auto car and im running on stock crank, connecting rods, and pistons... I want to know how much power can i make with this assembly before i have to start worrying...? I have upgraded seals, gaskets, bearings, rings, etc. So mainly just the assembly itself is stock but the "Supporting mods" if you will, are upgraded.

What year is the block? i have heard people pushing 750 horsepower through stock ls1s just waiting for them to fly apart so they can build something else. You should be fine that the power level you are at now depending on your rpm and rod bolts.

Depends on the tune, 600rwhp is a good stopping point.

Most of the boost guys will tell you at 550 things start to get iffy with the weak point being the hyper pistons...

that is also what i have been told, stock rods and pistons get a little nervous around 600rwhp.

Well here is the deal, with nitrous will i be able to push it farther than 600whp? Because on a 200 shot i will be around 650+ Then if you add a pro charger like i would like to im leaning more towards 800 or so.. My tuner is REALLY good... And the block supposedly came out of an 02 vette but im thinking it was an 02 camaro because the reluctor gear was a camaro gear... But im not entirely sure. It is an aluminum block though... So if you guys are correct i can hit a 150 shot and still be in the "Safer" range yeah?

Depends on your tune. I would say between 550 and 600rwhp is the weak point.

See there is a problem with that... If i throw a rod and trash my heads, im out a minimum of like $2000... That would be a loss in my books lol

I would like to keep it together at around 550whp on motor as long as i can so i can have time to build a forged 6.0 to make some crazy power

I'm with you on that. Why ruin any reusable parts crank, heads, block?

If you window your block & oil your tires, things could get real ugly.

Personally I say you are safe where you are now. Add 200 shot and I suggest new pistons. Add boost onto that and add rods. And ARP everywhere of course.

150 shot!!! thats all you need. eventually time will come when its time to build... change your oil regularly and keep an eye out for glitter (metal flakes) in the oil..

I was considering starting with a 100 shot and working up on the dyno, would that be a better plan...?

Im pretty much in the same boat as you as far as pushing the stock bottom end. My tuner said from his experience that 600 hp is really stretching it, weather its boosted or nitrous fed HCI, 600 just seems to be the breaking point. Im planning on a 100 shot this spring. id say you are safe to a 150shot but wouldnt push it past that.
