Hey AP why dont you throw a price list on here for everyone to see.
Everyone know's the price of everyone else's heads, but I cant recall seeing yours.

Let me go ahead and list everyone else's answer as this same question is geting worn out.
1. Absolute Speed / AS
2. Total Engine Airflow / TEA
3. GTP
4. Patriot performance / PP
5. Cartek
6. LG motorsports
7. AP engineering
Thats about it as far as sponcers go.
A good non sponcer is C&C but why buy from a non sponcer.

With 2500 to spend I would get a set of stage 2+ LS6 heads from AS myself.

Destroyer, I'll toss my 2 cents..mostly from hear-say internet winter racing:
Many of the sponsers offer good heads...from list above:
1. solid numbers , good rep, LG trusts them
2. Several satisfied users, exhaust numbers
3. No real comment, no recent Hype -Think Noyzee has/had them
4. Getting more solid every day it seems, decent price/performace ratio
5. Owned them, solid performers, somewhat pricey
6. LG, uses Absolute
7. AP, will do what it takes to please, good $ -Think PSJ and Tom Kempf has ?

"yah with a 98 id say go with the S2 perimeter bolt heads"

???? Ummm... Its just the valve cover bolts (not head bolts) that are different...does nothing for performance...

AFRs will be around $2500, but when?
LS6's are more expensive than PP's LS6 Style... but with LS6's you dont get what some feel is a suspect chamber due to welding (done to make them LS6 style). I'd buy the idea that the welds work fine for most applications, but the jury is still out for high boost and big shot applications in my opinion.

A welded head will work with big boost if it it done in conjuntion with new seats. In the Turbo buick world, ALL the big boost i.e. 28 + psi guys with aluminum heads will start to crack between the valves. While we are getting that fixed , by welding, we also have them reshape the bowl. After new seats that are done correctly, i have yet to see a seat drop.

If you have a head guy that is welding and NOT doing seats, i wouldnt go to him. When you weld , it melts the alauminum enough to reduce the area in which the seat grabs on to. Stock heads are a 3 thou press. When my guy does it it is a 6-8 thou.

For that price range you can have number of heads.

After researching the budget heads available out there, I went with a set of MTI Stage 2E's. For $1595 they're hard to beat.

I'd give Brian at TEA a call. For the money you could get his "real" LS6 stage 2.5 heads that have proven themselves at the track as well on the dyno. Here are some dyno graphs and these are with mild cams (compared to todays standards) :

The best heads out there IMO are TEA's LS6 Massengale ported heads with the hand blend . The torque #'s out there are incredible on those heads.

I'd only consider getting heads from TEA and Absolute Speed.

PP heads have had a ton of problems, and they're still having problems, GTP's quality has gone down, Cartek and MTI are too pricey IMO, but both have good heads, and I haven't heard enough about AP to comment.

What he said. I've dealt with Brian & Brent @ TEA many times and TEA has outstanding customer service. I'm a repeat TEA customer by choice. Jay at Absolute would be my other choice. I will admit I saw a recent set of PP's and they looked nice.

I may be selling my heads. They are brand new 6.0 heads that flow about 310 at .600". Looking for $1700.
