Default Torquer v2, cam only

Will I be ok running Comp 918's? I have a stock 01 LS1 pullout. I was gonna do the stock push rods etc, just the cam and springs. But I know it is pushing the limit of the 918.
It had TTS headers, Yank SS3600, Built trans, 3.73's, LS6 intake, ASP pulley.

I would rather bend a push rod then a valve. I ran the stockers on my old set up. Is it due to the XER lobes on the T 2?

Chromoly pushrods wouldn't cause you to drop a valves. Now a broken pushrod in the motor would cause some issues. But that's up to you. There is NO WAY I would install that cam with stock pushrods or let it leave here with them in it.

After all the bad batches of 918 springs I cant beleive people still use them..PAC makes great single beehive springs with no bad history...myself I always use a dual spring ... I ran a set of PRC duals on my torquer cam for about 45,000 miles before I changed to a different cam..the springs were still within spec when I changed them.

PS The stock GM pushrods are a joke and barely control the stock valve train..running a stock pushrod on the torquer cam would not be wise. Quality aftermarket pushrods will not cause you to drop a valve...who told you that BS.

That's exactly what it was a bad batch that occurred several years ago. I guess if you bought a quart of spoiled milk, you'd never drink milk again?

No sir your are incorrect on that..there have been more than one batch of the nororious 918 springs ... check your history and you will find that I was correct when I said batches which is plurl not singular.

PS Milk has and experation date I have never seen and experation date on a valve spring...poor anaology dude...

I would look into a double spring for that cam for some insurance on not dropping valves to breaking springs. Pac 1518 is a good beehive if your going to go that route.
