Default Removing filter without draining oil

I need to remove the oil filter on my LS6 CTS-V in order to work on the oil cooler adapter and re-route the fittings due to clearance issues, but I JUST changed the oil a few days ago. How much oil should I expect to come out when just removing the filter itself, besides what is in the oil cooler lines?

I need to know how many quarts of new oil I should have on standby....

Geeez Man!

Go buy a pack so you have what you need, plus for any top up needed till the next oil change.

Maybe you misread my post, but I just spent $70 in AMSOIL 10w40 just 4 days ago and just changed the oil, so I would rather not dump it all out and spend another $70.

Thanks.

lol probably not a bad idea, but I track the car at Sebring a lot so I'm trying to protect the motor as much as possible.

Ya'll are some ball-busters, lol. First time venturing out of the CTS-V section....

I do appreciate the quick response guys!

Why don't you catch the oil in a clean container and reuse it?
