Okay so I am starting with a 1998 LS1 and am doing a head swap (PRC stage 2.5 5.3L).

Can you guys help me with my list by either confirming any part numbers I list below, providing ones that are missing or listing anything else I will need to do the swap. This thread should also help people in the future since I did a search but came up short.

1- 5.3L Center Bolt valve covers (getting this from a salvage yard)

2- 5.3L Center bolt valve cover coil pack brackets (getting this from a salvage yard)

3- Valve cover gaskets for center bolt valve covers (Felpro VS50504R)

4- Head gasket (stock thickness) (GM head gaskets or Felpro Head Gasket) Anyone know what part numbers would be? Is the 5.7L and 5.3L head gasket the same ones?

5- Head gasket bolts (GM # 12498545 since it is for a pre May 2004 LS1)

6- ??? (anything I am missing?)

Since you are going with PRC heads from TSP you will get a better and quicker answer just calling them.

Get the valve covers and coilpack brackets off here, get everything else from TSP

I would try and find the valve covers and backets used. The new ones are pretty high from GM. Here's the part numbers on those items:

GM Valve Covers: Left - 12570427, Right - 12582224
Coil Brackets: 12563288
Gaskets: 12637683
Heads: 12498544 (MLS)

We should have it all here ready to go!
