well i will tell u that they are both good heads, but for the price, the 5.3 heads will be your best bet. that is a baby cam and you can run alot of compression with it. get the 5.3's @ 60cc and the .040 cometic head gaskets. you will be just around 11.4:1 compression with that combo and make more power (and fuel economy) alone with the compression over the LS6 head. also will make better torque. so for the money, the 5.3 has my vote

The LS6 heads should make a little more power. We can mill them to get the same compression as the 5.3 heads and keep plenty of PTV for you. It really comes down to how much power you are chasing and your budget. For the money the 5.3L heads are hard to beat. But if you are chasing a number, the LS6 will make better power. Either way, I'm sure you'll be happy with your purchase. Let me know if you have any questions and we'll get you fixed up!

Man that is going to be tough with a 224 cam. What intake are you running? I would say get the ls6 heads then, the will make more power then the 5.3's.

Have you ordered the cam yet, if your shooting for 450 i would suggest something a little bigger.

i still have to pass emissions i think the biggest i can go is a 228. worst case i would be in the 420rwhp? i have a ls6 intake. but i will go to lsx 102 eventually with bigger injectors. i alread have kooks 1/78 headders slp loud mouth exhaust slp lid below and maf. you think i would be in 420 range. right now with this setup.then if i upgrade later to lsx manifoild and tb injectors i should be 450?
