Default Tick noise at high rpm

Hey guys just wondering if you guys mite know what it is. When I wot as soon as it hits 5,000 rpm I start to hear a tick. I have 1998 SS m6. Not sure what it mite be. Can it be that one of my springs in my head can be broken? Or it's a spun bairring ? Any suggesting would help.. Thanks

how many miles on the motor?whats your oil pressure at 5000 rpm?remove your valve covers and inspect the rockers and springs.look for needle bearings in your oil.

Most likely you have a spun rod.. If you know how to pull the heads off do it n check for piston slap on the head n any dents or marks on the piston That indecates over travel of the piston n hitting the head. If that's the case then you have a spun rod. My case is a Lil diff. I only get the ticking at high rpm.

You could have a lifter going Bad and bleeding down I have a ticking on my car and its the a/c pump sometimes you have to really take some time and inspect or tear it apart.

I don't think it's the a/c compressure. U might be right it could also be a lifter going bad. The sound comes from my driver side head.

a rod goes knock knock.I feel its a lifter or a rocker arm.are the rocker loose?will a bad lifter effect oil pressure?a bad rocker will make noise and not effect oil pressure.put a BIG magnet at the bottom of your oil pan and move it towards the drain plug and pull it straight down.keep doing it and any needle bearings will be moved toward the drain plug.use a small pen magnet to probe the oil pan for bearing.just a crazy thought.
