Anyone else have problems with the FAST valley cover replacement bolts?

Anyone else have problems with the FAST valley cover replacement bolts?
I was really excited to have my new fast intake that I purchased from Tony Mamo ( ported of course ) but now I am just really disappointed.
After the first hex bolt slipped, almost reaching 18 ft/lbs, I decided to go to the store and try to size up the bolts.
I found that the 5mm that I attempted to use was the closest fit. I tried sears, orielly, and autozone.
Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks in advance for any advice!

18ft / lbs. Its what they have in their manual and is the matching spec in the haines manual. Verbatim from the fast instructions:
"1. IMPORTANT: Replace (10) valley plate bolts with the button head cap screws provided. Torque to 18 ft/lbs. Failure to replace these bolts could damage the fast manifold."

I hand threaded them in until they were touching. Then I used my torque wrench. Right as it got to hand tight with the wrench, maybe a 1/4 turn after that, it started to give and slip through. I did make sure to go slow because I have had similar experiences with torq and hex in the past.

The bolt head. Threads are not lubricated, fast does not indicate anything is needed there. I figured since they do specify to use thread loc in other areas of the installation that they don't want anything on these bolts.

Couple of thoughts. First, make sure the allen is seating in the bolt, if not it will bugger the head. Second, extension length makes no difference, I installed them with a 12" extension. If your socket is cheap (like Autozone) then that could be an issue. Finally, you can use anti-seize and reduce the thread torque value by 25% and get the same pre-load however it sure sounds like an issue with your socket.

My FAST 102 says inch pounds in the directions for both torquing the shell together and for torquing the 10 bolts to the heads. They also said to use thread lock on every bolt on the intake. I also did FAST oem style fuel rails and even the spacer bolts got thread lock and torqued to inch pounds. I don't recall what the valley pan bolt torque rating was of hand but it wasnt much so I think they were in inch pounds as well.

Just wanted to answer all at once. I found that the extension was definitely not allowing me to get to 18 ft/lbs. For those inquiring minds, the instructions say 18 ft/lbs for the valley cover bolts which is the exact same as what haines suggests.
Also, this is a 5mm hex drive. If you look up m8x1.25x30mm all the button cap head types are 5mm hex drive. Good example is at grainger.com

I bet you could be correct. When I was at autozone I tried their chrome plated hex key set and the 6mm fit perfect but when I tried the Greatneck set the 6mm was way to big and only the 5mm would fit.
