What if Dot-Dot was off by a tooth?
How much of a power loss could occur? Or would the motor even run right? trying to chase down a strange power loss and looking at all my options.

Did you do the cam install yourself? If so, I really dont see how you could have mixed it up because if you didnt have it right, it would be very obvious. Did you triple check that it looked like this before putting it back together?

My cam was put in a few weeks ago, dynoed it and lost some power and the cam fell off quickly at 5400,when it should have pulled to 6200.The cam was off one tooth. What a difference it makes. The car run fine, just down on power.

Like i said...the graphs peak within 100 rpms of each other it not at the exact rpm. i couldnt have drawn the graphs any closer. Just trying to eliminate possible suspects here.

That is why you always want to check you VE's with degree wheel to ensure the cam is ground right, and the timing marks are correct. Otherwise its all a guess.
If you know how many teeth are on the top gear you can figure out how many degrees 1 tooth is. If you know the top and bottom gear counts you can figure out what being a tooth off top or bottom is worth. Keep in mind 1 tooth at the bottom is far greater than 1 on the top gear as there are fewer teeth, so the offest becomes greater.

What are the two cams in question. How much advance is ground into each one? One tooth is normally quite a bit of advance or retard (like 10-12 degrees).

Well, being off by one tooth would effect the peak of the new cam. But since you have two different cams, the "real" peak of this cam should be different then your previous, but if it is off a tooth or so, you just moved the peak around. It could have just ended up getting moved to where your previous cam peaked too. Would be a pretty strange coincidence, but anything is possible.
