Default need help choosing an off the shelf cam

ok here is the situation:

98 camaro motor in a 1967 Chevelle. My brothers project.

he has a set of rebuilt 241 heads with minor bowl work and have been decked to flat, 10/1000's was shaved off.

what is a good healthy cam that can be bought off the shelf that will fit without having to fly cut the pistons?

which head gasket thickness?

and what length pushrods?

we have access to a futural F11, a t-rex, and an MS3 cam, or is there something better someone can recommend that can be bought right off the shelf?

car has full length headers, ls6 intake, ported throttle body.

any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

Manual or auto? Converter size if auto? What kind of rpms are you looking at turning? Weekend cruiser? Wanting to run at the track? Vehicle weight?

Its a stick, spec 3+ clutch.

Full weight 67 chevelle, not sure of weight.

Weekend cruiser, but wants an aggressive idle and power,

maybe occasional track trips, but not full out race car.

He basically wants the biggest cam he can get with the heads the way they are, but I really don't know much about cams at all. I know this is the best place for technical info, so I figured id ask here.

Why not,

go to the compcams website and fill the Cam-Help online form?
It will give you exactly what you need to know once you complete it and you then know you are getting the straight poop from the experts.

Trex is a good cam for the money. Very mean lope and about as big as i would go on a street car. Just my 2 cents.

You may want to stay away from the really big cams and find something that makes more power and tq under the curve since its a big heavy car.

he didn't do the rod bolts. He won't be spinning it hard though, maybe to the track once or twice a year, on street tires, just so he can see what he can do. He isn't really into racing at all. He just really likes that old school lope, so even if it is somewhat gutless, it still sounds mean, lol. his goal is somewhere between 400 and 450 on the motor, told him with a decent cam he could probably get 420's to 430's.

I am more worried because the heads he got were decked, and they took 10/1000ths off. I am not sure what that is in real life numbers, but he doesn't want to fly cut, so a big lift cam is what i am worried about.

it's really a weekend driver, but yea, on the street of course, he has a truck and a 3rd gen also. I don't know how streetable he wants it either, i think mostly what he is looking for is it to sound mean, and have the power there when he wants it.

thats why i keep trying to get him to go with the F11, although i have no personal experience with it, i have heard its a good full range cam. He really wants a lopey cam though, and not into racing as much as I am, so he is really stuck on the whole horespower thing, not the torque thing, LOL

If he gets the f11 on a 112 lsa it will be lopey. and if he wants to go a bit bigger id say it should be fine up to f14. i wouldn't go bigger than that though as you will start to get into the really peaky cams.

I would suggest the TSP 233/239.

What gear it has?? That would make a good difference in drivability with a big cam. Heavy car with big *** cam and no gears would be slow and boring to drive BTW.

SreetSweeper cams(ht228/232 or 236/240) might be a good choice or; Torquer 2 and 3...Tsunami.. Raptor.. VRX4-5..

Any of those cams will have an agressive lope with tight LSA and low idle BTW, even a 228R would..I have a 22x and it has a agressive lope.
