Default Ported LS1 heads with rocker arm bolt holes in intake runner

so i know that any kind of head that is ported will have these holes, but i was wondering if i should patch these up, or what type of sealant i was supposed to use on the rocker arm so oil doesn't bleed through into the cylinders?

I was wondering the same thing after looking at my heads today. I guess a good heatproof silicone sealant would take care of any intake leaks associated. I have some quality aviation stuff I'm thinking of using.

Use Permatex Number 2 nonhardening thread sealant on the bolts that protrude into the intake ports. This is what has been in use for 35-40 years on small block chevy head bolts. This will seal them up,and will also make them easy for removal later down the road.

A RTV or a teflon based sealant should work fine. Not an issue at all.

I prefer Hylomar to the copper spray.

On the rocker bolts, mount up a set and make sure the bolt doesn't protrude into the intake. If it does you can get shorter bolts. In my case I needed longer due to shimming required to get the rocker geometry correct.

I would use the copper spray on Cometics. It will help seal them up good on a seasoned block.
