Now I have it narrowed to 2 cams from TSP....
Which cam should I go with the TSP 233/239 or the TSP 228R, right now my goals with a cam is to still have good drivability and achieve over 400 rwhp cam only and for my car to sound sick. I currently have a M6 98'Z28 with K&N FIPK, ported TB, LS6 intake, LT headers, ory, SLP Loudmouth, underdrive pulley, frost mail order tune. If all goes well and running right I plan to to take the ride out to Victoria, TX and have Patrick Guerra and Kirk place a tune on it. Do you think my goals are reasonable and achievable with either cam and supporting mods. Please let me know. Thanks.

If you are going to have a pro like that tune it I highly consider the first one. Good tuners can work wonders with mid-slightly larger cams.
But have you considered your RPM range for either? The 98 engines have the weaker rod bolts...I wouldn't spin it past 6500rpm if it's a car you can't go without for enough time to pull/rebuild/reinstall the engine. Some people may disagree...but I don't like pushing my luck with a daily

If driveability is a big concern, I would go 228R. Tighten the LSA up a bit to make the cam hit a little harder at idle. The 228R IMO offers up a little of everything. Good power, good street manners, and a nice aggressive sounding idle.
On the chain, you can run the LS2 chain on the factory gears. Just make sure they are in good condition and not worn.

I ran the TSP 233/239 in my 02 WS6. It was my daily driver and I had no issues at all. It hits hard and pulls like a monster to 7000rpm. Mine put down 420 to the ground with supporting mods.

I have the 228R with a lid, headers, ory, and slp powerflo exh. only on a 02 SS m6 (springs, pushrods, timing chain and ported oil pump as well) and i put down 368rwhp and 355 rwtq on a mustang dyno.. i used to be a numbers guy and was a little sore about plus people usually give me crap bout the numbers but trust me this sucker pulls hard, and im completely satisfied with it.. considering i dont have much mods and the damage ive done to other cars around here

I"m running the 233/239 cam and LOVE IT!!! I could very easily DD the car if I wanted to. Little to know surging but you must have a good tuner. that's the key. and yes it's a top end screamer. pulls hard from about 3500 to 7000 rpms!!!
