Default Can't hook 1st or 2nd

Car:

Full suspension (eibach springs, slp subframes, bmr lca, bmr panhard, bmr adjustable torque arm), Full exhaust 3" (pacesetter long tubes, magnaflow), built rear end with 4.10's(gm gears, tom's axles, aburn posi, welded axle tubes, new bearings/seals) Aluminum driveshaft, ported heads ,gm hot cam kit (behives, pushrods),z06 intake,hv slp oil pump, k&n fipk kit). Car dynoed at 406rwhp

Car has 315 nitto's on the back and will NOT hook in 1st gear, and only hooks in 2nd if I very gently ease in to the throttle. If I mash on it in 2nd it will just spin.

What can I do to get this thing to hook?

i'll double check on what type of nitto it is after work. But they have three solid lines of tread down the middle, and that's it

ET streets

or spend some time getting your suspension dialed in. There are cars running 9s on drag radials, so obviously its not the tire that wont do it.

Not too many people can hook in 1st on the street with 4.10's. Especially if you are making over 400 to the tire.
You'll just have to ease it in first and roll into it in 2nd when on the street.

On the strip you can heat those tires up and you shouldnt have a problem!

Pinion angle set? You have relo brackets? What kind of shocks? What angle are the LCAs at? They should run down 2 degrees.Tire pressure?

shocks are eibach, tire pressing is 27 @ the rear (daily driver). No idea about pinion angle or relo brackets ~ suspension modifications were done by the previous owner

Well first find out if you're on the 555 street tire or the 555R drag radial. The drag radial will minimize the problem, a better drag radial will almost eliminate it.

There is your problem. You need to go through the suspension and sort it out. Measure and adjust. Start there, then try to identify any deficiencies. People also forget that these cars are over 10 years old and need to be maintained. Check bushings, mounts, all that fun stuff.

I'm not too familiar with suspension tuning and whatnot. I'll check out the suspension section~

I'll post up a bit later about the tires

I'm not really surprised. Does it hook if you take it to the track and get the tires good and hot? From a stop or slight roll, my car will spin my 315 ET Streets all the way through 1st gear no problem on the street. It hooks pretty good at the track though.
