Default dual springs not fitting correctly in 4.8 heads?

I just installed one of my dual valve springs that I purchased from a member on here and found that the seat wasn't going flush with the bottom of the head. The diameter of the seat is bigger than the stock ones... the spring went on alright and seems to be sitting ok now but I was just wondering if this could be a major problem

thanks

Sounds like you might be trying to install them over stock 1 piece seat/seals.

I agree, you need a valve seal thats seperate from the valve seat, dual springs wont fit over 1-piece seat/seals. I picked up a set of seals for a 00' silverado 6.0,From oreillys they fit fine. However youll need a set of valve seats to go with your springs.

My 4.8 already had separate valve seals/seats. I removed both and purchased new seals and my springs came with seats. Ha I'm not that dumb guys... But yeah I'll post a pic ASAP if I can. I'm going out of town tomorrow

Is the top what you are getting? You may have the wrong seat in your kit. Stranger things have happened.

Yeah it is. And well the springs just fit in those seats. The dual springs are substantially bigger than the stock ones

Here are some pics.. One with small seat and one with big seat.. The springs went in ok but I'm worried about them now being perfectly straight up and down. Are the ls1 springs bigger than 4.8/5.3?

Help!
