Is there a rule of thumb when getting the proper Head Gasket..as in you want so many thousandths over the Bore size and Head Chamber size?

I have a 4.030 Bore and was going to get that size Gasket, then I remembered the L92 Heads I have require a minimum 4.065 Gasket Bore so the Chambers aren't affected.

I'm trying to check everything when I put my Ported Heads back on, I want to make the most power I can doing it right.

You are supposed to get whatever is larger in size so in this case you would want the LS3 style head gaskets so they clear the 4.065" bore.

That's what I figured.
I'll be calling you guys tomorrow so put 2 aside for me plse, .040 thick.
