Cast in a different facility as far as i know. The ZO6 243s came with the lighter valves, whereas the GTO/CTSV all came with the standard, heavier valves.

I have seen a 2009 GMT900 truck 5.3L with one 799 on one side and a 243 on the other from GM. So the truck ones are the same.

The only difference nowadays is the casting number. It's the same head.

Pretty much the same head. Sometimes the valves in the 243s are sodium filled but other than that you are looking at the same head.

I have a TBSS 6.0 motor with one side a 243 and the other a 799, both have the yellow springs. The only difference is in the casting procedure, it appears the 799's are a sand-lostwax casting and the 243's are a investment cast. The 243's are much smoother in the stock form. Patriot re-worked mine and now they are basically the same. Bill

Not since its more well-known that they are both desirable heads. About $350-400 a set in stock form.
