Default when at TDC....

im following the pdf thats floating around on here somewhere

when at TDC....are the 1,2,7 and 8 exhaust springs supposed to be unsprung or not on the lobe? i thought i was at tdc on #1 and i torqued down the rocker on exhaust #1 and the spring stayed nice and tall like i thought it would and then i torqued down the exhaust on #2 and the spring began to compress. i didnt think it was supposed too. when you torque down the rockers arnt they supposed to be on base circle where the spring is at its tallest or no?

Hi,
the above is correct. Just make sure you have everything to specs/tq.
Fire it up to check everything.......then re-install valve covers and make sure no leaks etc. Good luck and have a blessed weekend.........jim

Yes. Either you are not at TDC or you don't have the correct valve (intake vice exhaust) on #2.
