Actually the Patriot "gold" springs are one of the best on the market right now. I'm actually swapping my comp 977's for these.

Were the replacement springs the Patriot Gold? The reason I ask is that I have one of the first sets of PP 5.3 S2's. Terry was kind enough to send a replacement set of dual springs about 2 months ago (when people reported some issues), but I haven't had a chance to install them yet. I don't think they're the "golds", and they look just like the original set.

Luckily, my car is a garage queen all Winter, but I'll be installing them soon -

Terry - are the springs you sent made by a different manufacturer?

TIA,
Scott

Scott,
What diameter is the springs? If I sent you a 1.46 dia spring,it is a racing spring I bought from PEP.If it is a stock diameter and not the Gold,it would be a crane dual. Thanks, Terry

Terry, I had one of the first sets of 5.3L S2's with the larger than stock diameter springs, so I guess you sent the racing springs you mentioned from PEP. The box they came in had the Patriot logo on them with the words "Patriot Performance Racing Springs".

Who is PEP (I've never heard of them)?

Does anybody have a reported track record with these replacement springs from PEP?

I guess I'm just looking for a some reassurance that the new springs will be reliable and last for a while...

Thanks again for all your help -
Scott

Terry,

[RELIEF] Many thanks for the reassurance! [/RELIEF]

BTW - I tried searching the web for PEP springs to read more about them... Does PEP stand for Precision Engine Parts?
