Default Losing oil and werid looking stuff in it?

I checked my oil today and it was half quart low. It's only been maybe 2000 miles on this oil (extended performance mobil 1 5-30). I added a half court, and while I kept checking to see when it was just right this light yellowish milky stuff came up on the dipstick? Now I havent been driving it that much and i was just told its from driving short distances and condensation building up on the valve covers, does that sound right? I wiped it off and put the dipstick in 50 times in and out to see if I could get it to come up again and it did one more and only a little. On top of everything my oil gauge has been bouncing only and after warmed up but its been doing that for awhile. I'm just wondering if my car slowly losing oil and the oil guage randomly bouncing are linked. Idk whats the think I'm just trying to get a good idea of what I'm looking at before I take to my shop. Thanks in advance.

but...if your oil itself looks milky, then you have a problem. like a blown head gasket

well the oil itself looks normal. When I first checked it looked kind of dark then after I added half quart it got lighter.

If it's a yellow color, then it's just condensation as already stated. As far as the oil loss, I think it's pretty common for these cars to burn a bit of oil. Mine does, at least.

yeah the yellow oil slime looking stuff is from condensation and can most likely be found on the oil cap. No big deal.
