My best friend is running this cam in his C5 Z06. It makes great power but IMO the driveability isn't great. Could be in the tune. I also don't like the fact you've got to change the valve springs out every 15-20k miles. Lots of power and noise though lol.

Well might be the cam for you. Very aggressive and with quite a few bolt ons and tune made like 464 rwhp & 432rwtq or something close to that. And that's on a 346ci. I'm sure with the rest of his bolt ons he could peak around 500whp. Car has stupid power, lol, kinda figuring that's why I'm a little disappointed with my torquer v.2 is cause I got used to his car lol. Sounds wicked too.

Have it in my wife's TA and she loves it. Runs just fine with a good tune. First cam I tuned so took me a while to get it nailed down but its running perfect right now. Sounds damned mean also. Had it dyno'd before I changed out to some 243 heads and made consistent power over the bolt-ons all the way across the board with a rough tune on it to get it on the road. No loss of torque at all that I can tell really.
If you have the time and patience to tune it should be no issue. Unaware of the valvespring deal but would imagine that must be if buying cheaper springs. Put roughly 5k or so on ours with no issues as of yet with some good spirited driving.

I think the Torquer v3 is a great cam. I get no bucking or surging at any RPM but that could be because i have a higher stall. I have ran an 11.3 in the 1/4 at 2500 ft DA with stock 243's on a LQ4.
Pros:
GREAT sounding
Very driveable
Good power
Cons:
Beats up valve springs so get quality ones

I'm awaiting my V.3 at the moment. It's actually on route right now to my house from TSP along with a bunch of other parts. I also got the PRC stg2.5 5.3L heads with PRC .675 lift valve springs, so hopefully I don't have to worry about valve spring issues too much. I'll have my car back together and tuned by Speed Inc some time next month. I'll post my feelings about it when I get it back on the road.

You will enjoy the cam if your not concerned with valve spring life just remember to test them at 10k then like 15k. You don't want to drop a valve because of worn out springs.

You guys aren't listening about the springs. It doesn't matter which ones you buy - its still gonna wear them out fast. Call Texas speed and ask. Its not a suggestion, they need to be check atleast at 15k miles and changed usually by 20k. That's why I didnt use it in my daily driver.

i have a torquer 3 with about 28K miles since the install. still running the same PRC dual springs that came on the 5.3L PRC heads that were installed at the same time. The install was done around 4 years ago and my springs are still fine. This is my daily driver and Ive just always been mindful to let the car warm up and not beat on cold springs.
That being said, they are getting replaced this summer. My engine has an oil consumption issue due to worn out valve seals and i might as well put in new springs while they are out.
I love the cam though, a very torquey power band and it pulls all the way up the RPM range. my tune is not dead on, but its not too far off either. youll love it.

With most of the aftermarket cam, springs need to be checked anyway at every 10k. Of course there is some cams that will beat up springs faster, but the T3 is using less agressive lobe than the T2 from what I've been told here. You could ask TSP to be sure.
Lift isnt everything; its the lobe that'll make the difference I think.
But running a cam with higher lift, I'd get quality doubles and call it a day.

the V3 is a big cam?
i really thought it was an ideal cam.
240s+ would be big, just my opinion.
i mean hell the TREX cam will work in a stock motor with no PTV issues.
its 242-248.
anyways
