Default 98 Z28 Auto Cam Swap

Was going on ls1tech?
i have a 1998 camaro z28 convertible auto, fully loaded blah blah blah...

so i bought this car with 127k with a thrown rod bearing for 1850$, i had to jump on it, im 21 years old, my first car @ 15 was a 85 Camaro, then i immediately jumped up to a 95 z28 lt1 @ 16 1/2-17, cammed out and all383 Lt for a 11th grader, thats sick, anywho so this is my 3rd Camaro and the body style i always wanted what a blessing for the price i got it for,

so....thats just my dedication explantion to Gen I-III world...

so i got a long block ls1, everything intact, im looking to swap out cam shaft....lifters...pushrods....valve springs...valves if i have to....i have found plenty books on the ls1 but nobody really talks about cam build ups....

anywho...i just looking for a larger cam with a thump, for a stock displacement bottom end...anybody know a good weekend drive cam set up beside the stinking ls6 hot cam kit swap...something under comp cam...

plz help...

thanks, Corey

theres a boatload of options. My advice here is call TSP and get a shelf cam since you know what you want and are using stock heads. I love my 224/230 114lsa Comp Cam on XER lobes. Drive it everyday. gets 26mpg on the interstate and I completely obliterate all my buddys anytime we go cruising. Being and automatic though Im sure you know you'll have to change the torque converter while you're in there. Id go 2500 to 3200

Everyone will tell you to stall the tranny to handle the cam. I am about to cam my auto and went with the asa cam which is not the best for a dd. Id say something with about a 224 duration on a 114 lsa will be a great dd cam bud.
