Stock block power rating?
How much power can the ls1 stock block really handle? Like the new t-rex cam makes 450 rwhp. Is that safe for stock block? At how much power gets to be a problem with ls1 block?

the short block prolly wont hold much more than 550rwhp i know i wouldnt feel safe with that much power on the stock shortblock. im gonna keep my stock short block and gonna have about 570rwhp with spray and see how long it last just for the heck of it.

I'm not EXACTLY sure on power-levels, but the stock LS1 short-block is strong enough to make quite a few 9 second passes.
I've seen 2 friends make 600RWHP reliably for over 2 years on a stock short-block.

if you ask me it seems to handle a good amount of power.

I dont think anybody has reached the limits of the stock block. Everyone that has broken one has been due to other factors . I think the days of a 1000 rwhp stock block ls1 will be here within the year.

I dont have any dyno numbers but with a LS6 crate engine, G5X3, some other mods and a 175 shot im sure im in the 600 neighborhood... Im more scared about rod bearings or melting a plug than what the block will hold!
