Default 243 porting gains

how much does porting gain in the hp department.

lets say stock 243 vs tsp stage 1 ported 243

That depends on the rest of the setup, ie headers, intake, cam, etc.

depends on who ports them, how they port them, etc. "porting" is a very generic term.

243s can flow mid 300s (340-350) on the intake with a 2.10 intake valve. but to run a big intake valve you have to run a smaller exhaust valve.

if you just want to open them up a little, maybe 15 HP. if you go max effort on a built motor, more.....

it's all about setting your goals, building to spec, and then see what it makes.

propely ported is the key.i've seen anywhere from 20 to almost 40 rwhp gains.but the rest of the mods/combo will effect that.
