Default Good pushrod estimate Comp XER 273HR

Hey whats up, I need a ballpark figure of the pushrod length I need. I know there are countless stickies/threads about this, I already have the pushrod checker because thats the right way to do it i kno, BUT i want to order a set that is a different length, so if my stocks (7.400") dont work I am not dead in the water. I figured best way to get an educated guess is the guys on this site cause i knoyou got more experience since this is my first swap....luckily i live bout an hour from summit racing in ohio so its no big deal to swap them out. Anyway here is my set up. I am installing...

'98 NBM Z28 (I know color doesnt make a difference but I wanna gloat lol)

'05 243 Heads
Comp Cams XER273HR (.581/.592 224/230 114)
LS2 Timing chain
LS6 oil pump
Keeping stock 76k lifters

I was thinking that since the base circle is smaller by approximately .050" so i would go with a 7.425"...Like i said i want to kno if any of you guys ran this cam give some advice..Good lookin

My brother currently runs this cam. When he just did a LS6 head and cam swap he used 7.4 in pushrods. I believe he used a .040 in thick head gaskit.

youtube Comp 224 and you will find his dyno vid. Its called Comp 224 dyno 2 i think.

Agreed, might as well replace the lifters. You can get LS7 lifters for about $130 shipped from many places

comps web site will tell you what pr's to use with that cam. if you go with aftermarket lifters you will want to measure for correct pr length. with my comp xr281hr cam they said to use 7.4 pr's with stock heads and gaskets but they are a little noisy for me. i may step up to a 7.425 length pr. hope this helps. if your planning on using a thinner head gasket the 7.4's should be good for you. by the way don't use your stock push rods!!!!

Ran 12.6xx @ 110mph with a 1.9xx sixty foot time. His set up put down 422/406. Mind you he had his heads cnc'ed and they flow really good.
