Default Out of 15 LSX cars I think a motor is gone. Video inside

Well, I don't know what to say.I have had 15(Including my current 2) ranging from 21 miles to 233,000 miles. This motor is a LS6 out of a 03 Z06 with only 55k on it All I was doing was swapping intakes. Once I get everything buttoned up and start the car I hear this sound which starts like metal in a tin can coming from the motor. I take everything back apart pull the valve covers and changed the oil. Oil looked fine. It did start to rain a little but i had everything covered up. Only thing I can think of is maybe a bolt or something fell into my motor when I had the Intake off. For those with a good eye you will notice the first injector on the drive side dumping fuel. Out of Anger I threw it out the ground so a new fuel rail is on the list of parts. IDK what to do I have found a 6.0L but don't really have alot of cash to use at the moment.

Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering....

Hard to tell what's going on with that video. Any chance of getting a shot from under by the pan? Maybe a closer shot from in the bay too? Seems like its idling high and shaking a lot.

Just pull the heads off quick and see what you sucked in. Might even be able to salvage it yet. DON"T RUN IT ANYMORE!

^^^agreed 2 ^^^.
Been there done that pal. I dropped a intake bolt down in one and did not know it. I searched for an hour and could not find it. My gut told me don't start this motor. But I did and clack, clack, clack. I was putting an intake gasket on a GM 4.3 motor and thank God that it didn't get past the valve. I still have that bolt for a souvenir. Good luck...

well he said he ruined one injector and you can see in the vid that it isnt plugged in so I'd bet thats why its shaking... and ya op if you hear clanking pull the heads and check to see if somethings in there maybe you can save it.

Thanks for the suggestions fellas. I will see I can do. I hope it can be saved! Like stated I will not turn the motor over again! I really didn't even want it to run for the 15 seconds it ran for me to make the video

I agree, take the time to pull the heads off and see what fell in there because something did.

Kinda sounds like a very large intake leak , but if I were w-king on it I'd get a small magnet either on a string or something like a bicycle spoke (thin but very rigid) , take off the intake and turn motor around to the intake valve being open 1 by 1 get that magnet down into each cylinder . Make sure it's a really strong small magnet and if anythings in 1 of the cylinders that will grab it or "just" take off the heads as a few have suggested . Good luck for sure
