Upgrading lifters, is it worth it?

I am building a 408 is it worth upgrading the lifters or is it a waste of money

Also which ones should I get

If you are going for a wild cam then yes. If you are putting a mild cam without agressive ramps then probably not. I would only think that if you were concerned about valve float i.e. radical cams and upper RPM ranges then you should look into somethine like comp R's.

not power wise unless there is problem with the stock lifters

cam is going to be around 242/244 612/612 112

i just want to know if it is worth the $200 to spend while the engine is out or can i just keep the stock ones and spend the money elsewhere, i just want to upgrade now while the engine is out and wont have to go back

I would it if I had it to do over again. Who is building the engine? Ask them and see what they say.

If you upgrade to Comp R's you will most likely need an adjustable rocker setup.So $200 turns into $1000.I'll stay with stock lifters.

I think I am going to I cant go wrong, I am goingto go with the Comp R and Harland sharp 1.7 rockers

the harland rockers aren't adjustable..just pay a little extra and get some good adjustables....comp pro mags
