Is there an easy way to get this seal out?

Just set the cover on two padded wood blocks face down, and tap it out with a flat blade screwdriver and a hammer (easy)

the cover is off.. i tried the screw driver method and i chipped the cover

im an idiot.. clearly tapped the wrong part. learning is a bitch! seal is out now the chip is really small . its right where the base of the seal sits.. the thin part ahah. its about 3/8 of an inch long . would you guys buy a new one or still use the cover?

If you still have enough metal where the seal sits you could coat it with some RTV before installing it. If the chunk is too big, replacement may be a better option.

I've seen a few used ones on ebay for around $30 and cheaper.

I think I would replace the cover based on that picture. I can see the crack running through too.
