Default stock ls1 rod resizing

I just bought a 98 Trans am with an ls1 in it. I bought it not running pulled the motor tore it down. The valve floated hit the piston broke the push rod and that bounced around inside. When I took the rods off I noticed that where they seperate all look like they were snapped instead of machined. Is this normal and if so am I still going to be able to get the rods resized if they need it.

Yes, thats how they're supposed to be.

To resize them, you just hone them about .002" oversized and call it a day. You don't have to (you actually shouldn't) cut the parting surfaces at all. Clevite makes a bearing thats oversized for these resized rods, pn 1776-P.
