Default Pulling the trigger tomorrow....on a cam

Well the times come to start piecing together my cam swap. I originally was set on the torquer v3 from Texas speed along with the ls6 oil pump, ls2 timing chain, cam gasket kit w/ longer arp crank bolt ect...but I ran across a cam called "the polluter" from tick performance. It's the same exact kit but it's $100 cheaper. The specs of the polluter are 24x/24x .61x/.61x 112lsa. The v3 is 231/234 .643/.598 111lsa. I've heard both produce awesome power and not just peak numbers. it's a street car only (see sig). Which cam kit would u guys go with? I drive it mainly on the weekends and I want that streetable/usable power and torque. along with the cam I'll b Pickin up a bbk ssi intake since they are $100 more than a used ls6. And I'm sending my throttle body out to be P/P... Im just worried the polluter will b too big and be a turd with in town driving even though I do have 4.10's. I will buy heads later down the road. and I'm purchasing one of these kits tomorrow so custom grind is a no no for me. hope that's enough info. Thanks.

I've got the T3 and I've been very happy with it. My car was an A4 until just recently, but since i switched to the M6 it seems like my car is always in the power band. My tune could be a little better, but i'm convinced i made the right choice.

I've also got heads on the car, but I'm very happy with my torque curve.

The Polluter cam is far from what most would put on there list of streetable cams, the T3 would be a better choice.

Ok that's what I was thinkin. I just ran across that kit for a good price. Maybe Texas speed can hook me up since tick performance kits are a little cheaper.

PRC 5.3L heads, Ls6 intake, LT's, custom ORY, flowmaster, lid, etc.

pulls pretty hard. as i said, I,m not 100% sold on my tune, which is partially because it hasn't been on the dyno since i did the trans swap. but through a poorly designed Y, and an awful flowmaster CB, i put down 384rwhp on a mustang dyno through an unlocked A4. feels like a great streetable cam

Ok kool. I should b lookin in the 400 range then with a m6. I'll probably just stick to my gut and order the v3 tomorrow. I think the price of the kit and their fancy advertising caught my eye lol.

Also it seems u putting out pretty low numbers with having a set of heads....I would think u should b in the 420ish range with heads and a cam on an a4....hmm weird

Yeah, that's what I thought originally too. Then I talked to a few other people that had been on that dyno and they had lower numbers too. Keep in mind that mine is through a terrible exhaust setup, an UNlocked torque converter and a less than perfect tune. I needed some work to say the least

Sounds like that dyno is waaaaayy off lol even with a shitty y-pipe and a bad tune, i wouldnt think it would hinder you almost 50hp. i could be wrong though. ill call up texas speed tomorrow and see what they can do for me since tick's price is a little less money for the same exact kit, just different cam obviously. im excited to get it done tryin to decide if i should pick up the chris1313 ram air and maybe a UD pulley, dunno if either are worth the $$ though.

those are the heads ill probably end up buying here in a few months... but ill b running the BBK ssi intake (i may throw a 150 shot on it later on) but for $100 more i get a better looking intake and a claimed horsepower increase with the bbk over the ls6...well see...so hopefully i b above the 450hp then or right at it

got ur pm btw, replied to it

with the 4:10 the Polluter wouldnt be too bad on the street with the right tune. But the powerband would be crazy with that gear and a T3..

The polluter runs good on the street and can seem mild depending on the tune. If it's not a DD go big. You already have the gear for it too. Nothing like doing all that work and wishing you went bigger like a lot do. Then again you could also wish you didn't go so big.
