Default Low oil pressure after 3 short laps

I tried lapping today and it was nice, but I noticed that my oil pressure dropped back under 40 and close to 30(never happened since I've never raced the race for that long). After some colling, everything went back to 40-50 idle and 60 at WOT.

I'm running Pennzoil 5-30 platinum synt and a cheap oil filter. The oil/filter are brand new. I think this oil is just not thick enough for endurance task. Maybe its alright for stock engine, but mine is a forged 347. I'll try some Rotella 10-40 if it does exist, since its sometime cold here, from -5 deg to 35 deg Celcius, from spring to automn. Ive read some good things about it in my search.

Any comment is welcome. I'll switch oil/filter if I go back to the track or after my a road trip in June.

BTW I had a NAPA gold filter before my cheap Canadian Tire standard filter crap, maybe its the culprit.

Sounds like "lapping" is a road course event?

If so, you'll want heavier oil or an oil cooler. Bondurant road racing school was running Mobil-1 15W-50 in their LS1 Vettes when I went there in 2004, and had zero engine failures.

I found Mobil-1 High Mileage 10W-40 works well, along with a Wix or Baldwin oil filter.

I use Mobil 15-50 for the track. Since my car is streetable but not a daily driver, I can get away with it off track as well. I store the car in the winter. 15-50 keeps the engine a bit cooler and helps a bit with oil pressure on the track.
