Default Intake manifold leak

Hello. I have a Camaro Z28 with 140,000 miles on it.

Anyways my ls6 is cracked...I wanted to put a bbk on it with an 80mm throttle body on it. A performance shop said I should put an LS2 with a 90mm throttle body and pull it.

If I out the ls2 with the 90mm throttle body and a tune it will cost around 1600 dollars. They say that will the tune and slp intake set up I would see about a 25 hp increase and a 15-20 torque increase.(no headers)

They also sad that if they have to inspect the car because of the mileage. I have been told by at least 20 people that it is a clean car and all the mechanics that work on it can't believe that there is that many miles on it...

My question to you is which one should I do...and do you think I will have any problems when they pull it?

If you are still running a stock or mild cam under 6,500 rpms is get another ls6 manifold...the ls2 had a 90 mm throttle body, but is drive by wire and doesn't perform as well ss the ls6

LMAO. Good luck with that.

Find yourself a used LS6 and call it good. If you want to upgrade the intake find a good condition Fast 90 and get a Nick Williams TB.

He said for the price that fast 102mm wouldn't be cost effective until over 400ci...

Well let's start at point A.

What are your current mods? M6 or A4? And if you are stock with no bolt on mods then yes, any upgraded intake over your current LS6 is a waste of money because the gains will be very very minimal for the money spent. So who told you the SLP intake with net you those HP/TRQ gains?

I have an a4. He said with the ls2 intake manifold + the 90mm throttle body + slp intake + tune + ungraded maf I can see 25 max hp gain for 1600 dollars...those are some expesnive horses...I know that i should have headers which makes the intake good but alas its a dd

doesn't anyone install ls6 manifolds anymore? WTF This ******* car is nickel and dimeing me....

The LS6 is still for sale. Texas Speed sells it and you can find them on here used for sale. Being it sounds like you are pretty much stock, if you netted 25rwh with those mods I'd pat yourself on the back and shout

Find a used LS6 and port the stock TB. Don't waste your $$$ on anything else until you get yourself some supporting mods like LT's or a cam. Also, just because your car is a DD, that doesn't mean headers will cause an issue as far as driveability goes. Thousands of F-Body owners that DD their cars are using them.

What would be best headers for a daily driver with the best clearance...I dont want the car to make over 400hp...Tranny = ****.

Depending on where you live and if you have emissions, best bang for the buck are Pacesetter. I would recommend LT's versus mids or shorties and as far as ground clearance you should have no issues what so ever. I'm lowered on BMR 1.25 springs and still have plenty of room. And no worries about the 400hp mark...with LT's, CAI, LS6 and exhaust you won't be near the 400rwh with a A4...or a M6 for that matter. With full bolt on's I put down just under 350rwh through my M6. That was through 4.10 gear ratio too.

I DD mine with no problems. If anything it's been a blessing from the hp gods! Like mentioned don't waste your coin on what that supplier or builder has suggested to you. Pick yourself up a used or new ls6 and call it a day. With nothing done to your car power wise it would be a complete waste of time and money.

Alright now guys I might be dreaming here but what if I was planning to get headers in a few years....What would pay off ls2 intake bbk intake or ls6 intake...The other tuner that is not trying to upsell me his products says the headers that he has put to camaro's always have the ls6 intake....
