Default Fresh build need recommedations

Should I use synthetic Royal Purple for start up / break in?

And I do not want to use that orange coolant. Don't need mud running through this one.

Can I switch to green?

Is this a rebuild? Or a brand new motor?

Synthetics are usually not recommended for breaking in motors. They can inhibit proper ring seal. A good high detergent regular motor oil would be best.
From the Total Seal website:

When first starting your engine to ensure proper ring seating, do not allow the engine to idle for long periods at a time. It is a good idea to mildly load the engine as soon as you can. Highway driving is a good way to properly seat the rings quickly. Do not idle the engine as idling does not break in any engine. Total Seal ® DOES NOT recommend the use of synthetic oils during break-in. After 2000-3000 miles on the street, or one night racing on the track, the rings should be adequately seated so that any oil you prefer can then be used.

Royal Purple recommends waiting 2000 miles before switching to synthetic oil. There is nothing wrong with RP, it's far superior to Mobil 1 for the same price.

OK so I'll probably go with castrol dino, but what about the coolant?

Don't want red mud back in there again.

Thanks.

If this is a fresh system you will be fine with the green. If it has had the red in it then I'd recommend you start out with the prestone that works with either red or green and then switch to full on green at your next change interval... or stick with the dual purpose prestone.
