Default Lost Cylinder 7 Low Compression

I think my car hates me because 200 miles after getting done rebuilding the transmission my car started misfiring and after diagnosing it found compression at 120 on cylinder 7 while the others had 180. With 125,000 miles I am just going to rebuild it with some new rods and pistons and put the 243 heads I already have on it. With all the parts and machine work I have come out to about 3000 to do it right. I am torn though between finding a used low mileage ls3 and rebuilding my LS1 because I think the extra money is worth it in the long run to have a ls3. Anyone have any opinions on what would be better a stock ls3 or a built 347 w/ 243 heads + cam. I figure I can sell my fast 90/90, 243 heads, new custom cam, and meziere pump to help even out some of the costs.

If you can find a good used LS3 in would be a better long run investment. An LS2 would also be a better platform, in my opinion.
