Default need help on what pistons to go with.

Well I have a stock ls1 with a mild cam and some patriot 243 ls6 heads, and I'm looking to forge the bottom end to take a good shot of nitrous but don't know exactly what pistons specifications to go with or what they mean such as flat top or dish, _2cc valve relief? And so on...... so if someone could help and explain this a little I would appreciate it. Thanks

Where do you want your compression to be at? Will it run on 93?

WISECO 2cc valve relief with nitrous rings. You'll have to hone to 3.903

Is the hone the reason most forged blocks are considered 347s instead of 346?

Yes the hone will pick you up an extra cubic inch. I also say Wiseco pistons. They have a 3.903 bore" 3.2cc valve relief piston that comes with a nice steel top ring/napier 2nd that can handle a lot of nitrous. Pair it up with a nice rod and an ARP main stud kit and you should be good to go.

-3.2cc is just a little bit larger of a relief, which results in a little less compression. But you have all the room you need to mill the heads and get it back.

ok well I already have 59cc heads and don't really want to mill the heads so would -2cc valve relief get me to 10.8-1 or 11.0-1 compression with 59cc heads? Thanks again for the info

Use a compression calculator online somewhere. Just input your exact specs and it will give you your static compression.

With a stock thickness gasket you will be at 10.84:1. This is with a 59cc chamber in the heads and a -3.2cc valve relief in the pistons.
