Default World Challenge head

For the Cadillac CTS-V, GM specifies the cylinder head # 12578451. Anybody know where to get this? It doesn't seem to appear on the first level of searches....

Nice stuff hunh

That is preproduction stuff you found in the VTS, like the 90 mm TB, the block, the heads, and all that nice stuff that is not yet available to the public. We get to run against that thing this year. 2.2 valves? 90mm TB? 4.150 bore? 7900 limiter? Should be fun Well let yall know how it goes after Sebring

That head is available thru your local gm dealer. Same head for corvette and GTO.
It is the only legal World Challenge head.

If your not running in World Challenge then a CNC head from one of the sponsers of this sight will give you equal or better performance for less money.

Is this the head used on the WC motor you built for that GTO customer Kurt?

Yes it is. We have one Corvette and one GTO running them.
The head is very nice piece but rules are "stock valve size". If your looking for performance heads and your not limited to valve size I would look over there.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>

Kurt, that is not the same head the CTS-V ( Race car) has. The production head in the CTS V is the same, but this WC car is not.

Check that out. 290 cc runner? 2.2 valves? Not the same LS6 head we are running

That link you have won't open for me. Is that the Pratt and Miller car?
I would think they would follow the same rules as the Corvette since it has the same engine, but you never know. That may be a C5R engine but those are not allowed in the class we build for- World challenge GT in the SCCA.
If its C5 stuff they ROCK!

Hard to tell what they want, most of the rules are blank! I called Aaron when the GTO engine came in and he sent the vette specs and said to copy them.
The cts-v was at autorama and it looks awsome. Looked like it had a hewland seqential box in it and was advertising over "500 hp". Should be fast hot rod

"Check that out. 290 cc runner? 2.2 valves? Not the same LS6 head we are running "

- those runners are huge - they' ll never work on stock cubes. Port velocity will stink .....fuel will drop out. They won't make good power.

-2.20 valves are too big. They'll shield the flame front. They won't work, either.

I'm just being the theorectical, internet myth, Naysayer!!

Kind of like - " 240+* cams won't work on an LS1. Sure it will work on a smallblock ...But LS1s don't like that much duration".
