What oil to use

What oil to use I have a fresh stock ls1 short block going in w/ H/C/I, this is my first LS motor so I'm wondering if you guys all run 5W or do you run heavier oil and whats a good break in oil?

FWIW, when I dropped in the crate LS6, I was told to use NON-synthetic oil, for the higher Zinc content, for the first 3,000 miles. Changing the oil and filter at 1,500 and 3,000 miles and at 3,000 miles I could switch over to Synthetic... I went to Mobil1 5w-30 which I have used on all of my vehicles.
