Default Engine dyno cam comparison article + fast 102

Not sure if this is already posted or not but this has some great info.
They dyno the stock cam, 224/230, 231/239, vindicator 240/244 and a custom 237/247 115 which made the most power. They also tested the fast 102 vs the LS6.

Great article: http://www.gmhightechperformance.com...est/index.html

Here is part 2 where they test a few more cams (futral cam motion grinds) and a set of new patriot predator heads

With all the daily questions about "which cam should I run?", I assumed some people would like to see the difference in torque curves from stock, small and large cams?

it kills me how they gained 20.8 horsepower with the heads and say it's impressive. i would expect at least double that over some stock 241's.

I might be a bit out of the loop, but it bugs me how no one has done a direct comparison between a stock l76 and a fast 102 without any other changes. (back to back) Itd be an easy job for a speed shop or anyone getting one installed to do.

PHEMONIC-I Posted long ago when i had l92 heads a l76 intake vs a 102 intake results. I gained like 2hp and that was all. It really did nothing on my car for the money,it is not better then a l76,at least not on my set up.People say it was because i used the 90mm-th body for both intakes and the 102mm th-body would of helped. But,i wanted to see what the intake did....NOTHING on my car.. I now have trickflow 235 and a mammo ported 102 on it and still using the 90mm th-body.The trickflow made a nice gain over the cnc l92 heads and worth spending the extra money on.

awesome articles. i wonder about the 241s that were already on the car, though.

i also figure the monster 115 lsa cam would've had a much broader/smoother curve had they spent the time to optimally tune it. also...where is the trex? i want to see the decade old comp cam technology decimate!

the 21 hp gain from adding those heads is ridiculous. on a big cam only/fast 102 motor you could prob see 20 hp @ the crank from an underdrive pulley and removing the air filter.

in the new one they test a couple more cams, with a lunati cam cranking out more power than any of the previous cams,it was like a 230/237 .600 .600 on a 113

Gained 30rwtq. Curves looked good to me. My graph is posted in the dyno section.
