Default Friend looking for a good street cam

Hey guys a friend of mine has a 98 a4 ls1 and apparantly is too lazy to look for cam help. he currently has longtubes, x pipe, 410 gears, 2200 stall, smooth bellow, lid and filter, maybe a few other things im forgetting. He is looking for a nice sounding, performing cam that he can drive on the street. Its not a daily driver but he does drive it a couple days a week. He definately is looking for an off the shelf cam, nothing custom. I think he is looking to use a frost tune after putting a cam in it. Thanks for the help guys.

I would look for a different stall first.

He doesnt really know enough to do research anyway and I dont know jack crap about an ls1. I dont think he want to rev it past 6500 rpm. motor has 118k on it. I told him to upgrade to around 3500 stall. the car came with the 2200, he wasnt dumb enough to buy that. He was looking at some stuff by thunder racing and lunati. Hot cam would be great for me lol! He is tired of losing to a rustang.

With the a4 something around a 3600 stall; stall first, and then the cam.

Yeah, the TSP 228R with a 111 or 112 lsa would be good cam.
IMO, find a reputable local tuner, it's always better if the tuner has the actual car there.

BTW, does he have a LS1 or LS6 intake, if he still has the LS1 intake he needs to at least get the LS6.

He has the ls1. He has a friend with an intake not sure which one it is that he is looking to buy. Its an aluminun intake and throttle body.

I think it was made by professional products? Tb & intake. Any clue on quality. Gotta beat this slow 351 Windsor rustang.

I've heard the quality isn't the greatest, but personally I really don't no except for the fact it doesn't use factory style seals around the intake ports, which is better.

I'd opt for an ls6 intake/ported stock throttle body.

228r from Texas speed on a low lsa, won't make you spin so high and sound a bit more aggressive.

Highly recommend a 3600 converter minimum.

You will also need.. ls2 timing chain, ls6 oil pump, springs and push rods.. Of course some gaskets and bolts. They entire kits you can buy, call and talk to john or matt.

If you don't mind going a little larger on the cam a TSP torquer V2, 232/234 with a 111, or 112 lsa would also be a good choice.
