What size pushrods? I'd upgrade so you don't have to tear it down if the stockers fail.. I had LS7 lifters which are beefier (cup is .060" higher though). Those I was not impressed with. I am putting my engine back together in the next few days with Comp Cams Pro Magnums lifters. Don't forget to give them a long oil bath prior to install!

LS-7 lifters will be your least expensive option. Decent lifter for the price. I went with the Morel Link-Bar lifter for peice of mind. Comp makes a decent lifter as well as Lunati. Really depends on how high you plan to Rev the motor and how much $ you want to spend. You will get many opinions about this question.... Good luck with your choice.

the push rods are Thunder Racing Heat Treated Chrome-Moly Pushrods, 7.400" (Stock length LS1) i dont think i can go to a tall lifter well the t-rex cam pushs the max on the valve train they aint a hair inbetween stuff after the cam is installed.

If you do the LS7 lifters, thats the cheapest and slightly taller which means less valvetrain noise with the 7.4" pushrods. I say that because I've heard TR recommends that size, but ppl complain of all the noise and switch to a 7.425".

Op, seems you can't go wrong with the LS7s. I was merely giving a friendly heads up it may be a bit noisy with that size rods but you'll be good to go!

we both learned something new today
now i need to find them for the cheapest price

OHHH ok - so its overall the same size as an LS1 but beefed up, right? That makes more sense, being that my 7.425" pushrods with the LS7 was still a bit noisy.

Yup, there was a thread on here a few weeks ago, where a guy (sorry, can't remember who) actually measured the two to compare the differences.
The ls7 lifter has the body going all the way around the roller where the ls1 lifter just has two tabs at the bottom of it holding the lifter in....that is the biggest difference I saw when holding the two up side by side
Ls7 on the left, ls1 on the right
