Cool Engine block casting number help

I have what appears to be an ls1 engine but I can't find these numbers on line. I need some help. I saw the motor get pulled out of a 99 trans am. The casting number is 12567393 think if might be a 5.3? The intake looks right and so do heads but block doesnt look aluminum.. if it is the 5.3 can I hop it up with ls1 cam and other aftermarket parts? Any help would be great its going in a 97 camaro

That comes up as a 4.8/5.3 iron block. Same block used for both motors. Just depends on the crank and rods.

throw a decent cam in it, and port the heads. have a 5.3 in mine and it makes good power. Not ls1 power but hey I bought it thinking it was a ls1 so been driving it around and beating ls1's before i did the cam swap so who knows what we will see at the track now.
