will the 99-02 CHEVY VORTEC 5.3L STOCK CYLINDER HEADS fit on a 98 ls1 ? and what kind of HP gains would i see with them and a hotcam

Yes they will fit. You will need the newer valve covers as well as coil brackets to complete the install.

They wont make anymore power in stock form. The only advantage to the 5.3 head is added compression. Stock, unported though, the valves are smaller than a 5.7 head and would not give you any gains....

You could get a loss of power without porting or at least changing the valve size on the 5.3's. The extra compression wont make near enough power to compensate for the lack of flow, especially with a cam. Stock heads can be good for alot of power. Spend your money elsewhere, like headers or an LS6 intake.

If u want the 5.3's get them ported to see any gains out of them. The stock valves are too small.
