Default TFS heads... with stock rocker arms?????

i have my motor pretty much all assembled. 6.0 ls2 with tfs as cast heads and a vengeance vindicator cam. i am using gm rockers with the comp trunion kit. my issuse is the gm rocker arm stands dont sit on the TFS head flush. looks like all i have to do is grind the alignment tabs off the stands. but is that all or do i need to shim them? how do i know/measure if shimming is required? i've heard a lot of people just grind those tabs off and torque the rocker arms down and go. the heads were set up for the use of stock rocker arms (power metal valve guids). any help or pictures would be great!

Just grind the tabs off and you should be good. It looks like most of the aftermarket casting heads do not allow for the tabs on the stock rocker stands. You will still need to check the wipe pattern to see if you need to shim the rockers or not.
