These are my plans for stock ls1 heads Well I went to my local machine shop and they told me they would port and mill my heads for $170.00 the mill would be .020 to PTVC for the Torquer2. The price well it's low cause this guy used to be my autotech teacher in high school so we go way back, and has always done all my work. Any opinions? This will be done next week tues.

I'd be leary of anyone, even an old friend, offering to port and mill my heads for under $200!

Feel pretty confident in them they do port ls heads have had a couple of their ls vehicles go 10's. But they're thing is more of the old school motors they have a couple of 8 sec. Vehicles both ford and chevy and a chevy 6sec beretta and several vehicles in the above times.

Ever hear of the saying, "You get what you pay for?"
Pay $170 for 'port and mill' and get a $170 port job of questionable quality.
If you've ever ported heads (I have) you'd know how many hours go into a careful job, and that what looks good to the 'eye' might not be so good for flow. $170 seems awful low for any kind of careful work.
