Default Any differance between early model 243 heads and later model heads???

Just bought a set of 243 heads from a guy on here.Heads look really good.Taking them to the machine shop to get them milled 0.35 thous.and check for cracks.Should be ok.I just wanted to know if there is any diff, between the early 243's that are on the cars and the later 243's that are on the trucks. Thanks,Mike

Just the ones on the Z06 had sodium filled valves i believe. The non z06 had regular valves.

I knew some came with the sodium filled valves, just thought the zo6 non sod/filled heads were different from the later model truck 243 heads. Also will my 7.4 hardened chrome molly push rods will work after milling them? Thanks

The castings themselves are the same, its the valve weight/dimension thats different. As for PR length, MEASURE, MEASURE, MEASURE! There is alot of good info, and how tos on here, and its the safest way to go!
